Officers often have a special place for pets. We have heard several stories about on-duty policemen who discover a dog in need of help and provide him with a home for life.
This was the case for one of the officers, who happened to come across a black German shepherd at work, which turned out to be the beginning of a wonderful friendship.
Officer Daniel Caramello of the Rancho Cordova Police Department, California, responded to a report of trespassing from a nearby company. Ronin, a black German Shepherd, was first discovered there.
According to CBS Sacramento, the officer was told that he believed the dog belonged to another local company, but Caramello later found out that the company had “nothing to do” with the dogs.
So the search for the real owner of the black lab began, and he inquired with the local sbka to find out if he had a chip or the owner of which he was looking for. But it soon became clear that Ronin had nowhere to call home.
Caramello developed an attachment to the errant Laboratory at the same time.
“I was surprised that no one wanted to keep him, especially considering his attitude and character,”Caramello told CBS Sacramento. “Something clicked with Ronin for me. “I fell in love with him from the very beginning.”
So the policeman did the unthinkable: he chose to adopt the dog himself! “I was able and lucky enough to apply and adopt Ronin,”Caramello explained.
The policeman took Ronin home. It seems that the dog was terrified at first, and Caramelo was worried about how he would react to his 9-year-old daughter, who was afraid of fangs.
Officer Caramelo, on the other hand, recalled that his daughter “quickly grew to love him as did the rest of our family,” and Ronin quickly got ready for his new surroundings.
“I look forward to coming home and seeing him every day. Caramello told CBS Sacramento, ” he meets me at the door.”It’s just a great company.”
Officer Caramelo, thank you for adopting Ronin! This policeman has undoubtedly discovered a wonderful” partner ” who will be by his side for the rest of his life.
