Abandoned in the woods, she lay helpless with tape over her mouth and broken legs, succumbing to the weather and injuries. But fate had other plans for her.
A merciful Good Samaritan and his wife happened to see Angel’s frail form and took immediate action. They gently removed the tape from her muzzle, bathed her beaten body, and comforted her amid her pain.
Despite their efforts, they knew Angel needed more help than they could provide.
With urgency coursing through our veins, we rushed Angel to the hospital, where her real fight for survival would begin. The initial examination revealed a shocking truth: Angel had been shot six times, with one bullet hitting her spine, leaving her paralyzed.
Angel’s profound suffering at the hands of cruel humans is incomprehensible. Yet, in the midst of her excruciating pain, she demonstrated a resilience and spirit that touched the hearts of all who crossed her path.
Two days later, Angel underwent surgery, a complex procedure to remove the bullet from his spine. Miraculously, she emerged from surgery with renewed vigor, expressing gratitude for the second chance at life we had given her.
In the days that followed, Angel’s remarkable recovery continued. Even though she had to fight a mild fever and needed constant care, her spirits remained high.
With the support of a loving foster family, she defied all odds, learning to navigate the world with the help of a stroller.
Today, as Angel departed for her new home in Wisconsin, we were filled with a mix of emotions — gratitude, awe, and a little sadness as we said goodbye.
Most of all, though, we’re glad to know that Angel has found her happily ever after.
