I was looking for a dog, followed the instructions meticulously. The farmer mentioned spotting one on the riverbank.
It wasn’t until two hours later that I found it, half submerged in the river, struggling to crawl ashore. My heart sank as I saw his plight, made worse by age and neglect.
After drying and nourishing the poor creature, its condition improved slightly, but it was quickly realized that it was paralyzed, explaining its inability to return home. Its body was covered with ulcers, especially on the lower thighs and buttocks, indicating prolonged suffering.
When I arrived, the doctors rushed to assess its condition, and a gloomy atmosphere hung over us as we waited for their verdict.
The extent of its injuries was incredible, with bruises indicating a traumatic attack and necrotic wounds indicating severe neglect. Did someone cruelly throw it into the river?
The dog had endured unimaginable fear and pain, as evident by the debilitating condition of his liver and the presence of a herniated disc.
Our journey to nursing him back to health was full of challenges, but gradually, signs of recovery appeared. However, despite our efforts, it became clear that the dog would never regain the ability to walk.
Although the road ahead remains uncertain, we remain committed to giving him the love and care he deserves, determined to give him solace and comfort in his twilight years.
