Very Good Boy K9 Cop Sniffs Out Multi-Million Dollar Van Filled With Drugs

A state trooper with the Indiana State Police ACP Team (All Crimes Policing) recently stopped a vehicle, and his very good boy got to work.

The trooper stopped the van because of a moving violation near Lowell, Indiana, which is located around 50 miles southeast of Chicago.

As the trooper approached the vehicle to speak with the 31-year-old driver, Christopher S. Colburn, eventually the van was investigated.

The trooper’s K9 officer hit on a drug scent from the exterior of the vehicle, so the trooper questioned Colburn as to what he had inside. During the search of the van, troopers found 38 large boxes and 6 black garbage bags.

On closer inspection, and thanks to the K9 officer, troopers discovered a massive amount of marijuana. An official press release was issued detailing the results of the search.

“Inside the boxes contained a total of 1,264 individually sealed bags, each weighing approximately 1.5 lbs., and contained a green plant material.

A field test of the content revealed it to be marijuana.  The total amount of seized marijuana weighed approximately 1,275 lbs.

A conservative estimated street value of the seized items is approximately $5.7-8.5 million dollars,” according to the Indiana State Police official press release.

Colburn was arrested and faces a level 5 and level 6 felony charge. Although Indiana allows for the possession and sale of CBD products containing less than 0.3 percent of THC, “a person charged with the sale or cultivation of 10 pounds or more of marijuana can face a punishment of up to six years in prison, with a fine of up to $10,000.”
