They Adopted A Dog With Terminal Cancer And Made The Last Months Of His Life The Happiest!

Rooselvet was a very lonely pit bull dog with a sad look on his eyes. His owner dropped him to the Chicago Animal Control with a note justifying his abandonment.

“He has a problem with urination”

When Kelly Michael and Sarah Lauch met him, they were crushed by a desperate and broken dog. They wanted to get him out of this sad place and cold cage as soon as possible.

“I watched him calmly resting in the cage while all the other dogs barked and jumped for my attention. He seemed to be crying because he was so sad,” Sarah wrote on Facebook.

“His teeth were completely broken. Perhaps it was because he ate a stone or tried to escape from the cage. We were so helpless and sad about him. We immediately took him and tried to find shelter to heal him,” she added.

Fortunately, with the help of One Tail at Time, they were able to take him home.

He didn’t know how happy it was to hug him.

Unfortunately, Roo was diagnosed with end-stage bone cancer when he was seen by a veterinarian and had only a few months to live.

Faced with this difficult situation, they decided to give him a real family and make his last days the happiest. Roo will live with Kelly until the end of his day.

Roo doesn’t even know he’s sick and behaves like a normal dog.

They spoil him a lot. He is very happy!

They decided to make a list of Roo’s last wishes. They did it completely. He took a first lake dip, tasted ice cream, got a therapeutic massage and even went to Taco Bell to dine.

The list is endless, and Roo enjoys every meal as if it were really the last.

His time may be limited, but love knows no bounds. For these girls who supported him and adopted him, Roo became a life lesson to be grateful for every moment. So they went viral with the hashtag #LiveLikeRoo and created a page with his name, and the impact on the network was huge.

“People sent me direct messages and fans invited us to their lake house. Now all owners are taking care of their dogs.”

While she’s been positive about Roo, Sarah said she knows the end of the journey won’t be easy.

In the heartbreaking foreshadowing, they discovered a wonderful side. And the best way to handle this is to give him a lot of happiness in his last days.

This is what true happiness looks like.

“Even after we’ve known each other for such a short time, the thought of having to put him to sleep brings tears to my eyes.”

“It’s only been a few months since Roo was born, but we hope #LiveLikeRoo can inspire everyone, now and forever,” read the Facebook page.

In this tribute, you can see how much Roo enjoyed every minute of his last days. It’s hard not to cry!
