Five years ago, her owner, Shanna Lauren, rescued the banana from a pet store trash bin, knowing it would fill the void left by Tessa’s destroyed toy.

Today, Tessa proudly shows off her banana to visitors, insisting they acknowledge its importance to her. Lauren fondly recalls how Tessa prompts guests to compliment her cherished possession before she settles down for a nap.
