Military Veteran Unable To Function Since Service Dog Ran Away, Pleads For Help

For six long months, Roi Biton has been grieving. His dog didn’t die, but he is facing the most terrifying situation of his life.

Biton is a 39-year-old Israeli military veteran who took his dog to play at a vacant lot he hoped to buy in Jones Maltsberger in Texas near U.S. Highway 281.

All of a sudden, his dog, Golani, saw a small animal and ran to pursue it. That’s the last time he saw the dog and his life hasn’t been the same since.

“My life is a nightmare,” Biton said. “I can’t sleep. I can’t function. I do get leads, but they usually lead me to another dog that isn’t Golani.”

Not only is Golani the man’s loving pet, but also his certified emotional support dog. Golani has been a part of his dad’s life since he was eight weeks old. Now at five years of age, the dog is gone, Roi is devastated, and he hopes someone has seen his missing pooch.

So far, he hired a private investigator and ask to viewed surveillance cameras in the area the dog disappeared. Unfortunately, the cameras were not functioning that day. He reached out to a few television and radio stations hoping they could get the word out, too.

“Golani belongs with me, and I belong with him,” Biton shared. “We have a bond that Golani won’t have with anyone else … My whole family is in Israel, so I’m pretty much all alone here. Golani was a gift to deal with my PTSD and to help with my loneliness. The bond we formed is unbelievable. He’s very special to me.”

At the time of his disappearance, Golani didn’t have a collar on but he is microchipped. He is a white dog with a partially black left ear and a black spot on his nose.

He is about 3-1/2 feet tall and weighed 90 pounds when he disappeared. Anyone with information should call or text 210-383-2404. Briton shared that all tips can remain anonymous and he won’t ask any questions.
