This adorable little English bulldog puppy appeared to be pretty disenchanted with the world upon entering it. Her face conveying the uncanny expression of someone disappointed by nothing short of life itself.
Like, “What’s so great about this?”
Noticeably, however, that pup’s crabby countenance has yet to fade. It was something her owner, Janina, noticed right away. Meet Madame Eyebrows, an English bulldog from Germany with a unique look.
Her beautiful eyebrows and pouty lip give her the saddest expression of all the time, whether she’s playing, sleeping, begging, or just having fun.
Although most dogs always look like they’ve just won the lottery, there are also some dogs that perpetually look sad and worried.
She was born with spots above her eyes that look just like eyebrows, hence her name.
Her eyebrows make her incredibly unique, but they also make her look dejected and sad.
See what we mean…?
Can anything cause this pup to look pleased?
This can of puppy food, perhaps?
No. Apparently not.
How about her lovely pink bow tie?
Nope…
What about this tote bag?
Still nothing.
Fine then — some ice cream?!
Madame Eyebrows appears to be unflappably cheerless.
But don’t judge her just yet, despite the downtrodden expression, Madam actually has an upbeat personality. “She is very happy,” Janina told The Dodo. “She wiggles her tail, gives kisses.”
Turns out, Madame Eyebrows is actually a bubbly little ball of love. It just might not seem like it in photographs.
“In real life, you have to see her only a few minutes and you see that she is happy,” Janina said, adding that her husband agrees. “We don’t see only her sad face. We see how funny she is! And how much love she gives to us.”
Dogs may not actually have eyebrows in the way that humans do.
However, according to Canidae Pet Food’s blog, they can still communicate with the ridge above their eyes where perceived eyebrows would be.
Even though, most of the time Madame Eyebrows might look down in the dumps — appearances aren’t everything, especially for a pup with such a big, friendly heart.
And in the end, that’s what makes her perfectly imperfect.
