Dog thrown over wire fence by owner has found a new home

It’s always heartbreaking when someone abandons a dog, but some people do it in especially shocking and cruel ways. That was the case recently, after surveillance footage caught a man throwing his dog over a razor wire fence.

But despite that cruel act, this dog now has a happy ending after finding a great new home.

The incident occurred in Riverside County, California on December 15. Surveillance video shows the moment a man lifts up his dog and tosses him over a wire fence surrounding a cell phone tower.

The poor dog, hurt and confused, can do nothing but watch his cruel former owner walk off from the other side of the fence. The footage shocked local officials.

“The video is shocking, the most horrible act of willful abandonment with the suspect throwing the dog clearly over 8 feet of fence and razor wire,” Animal Services Commander Josh Sisler told ABC 7.

Sisler said that while the dog hit the razor wire, he thankfully didn’t sustain any injuries. Employees at the cell phone tower reportedly found the dog hours later, provided water and contacted animal services.

The dog, an 8-year-old pit bull mix, was microchipped. Authorities identified the owner but were unable to contact him. Animal services are now seeking an arrest warrant.

But while the investigation remains underway, things are now looking up for this dog.

According to an update from KABC, an Orange County woman named Jennifer heard the story and knew she had to help. She drove out to meet the dog, now known as Ken, and decided to adopt him!

Ken’s abandonment was shocking, but it seems everything worked out well in the end and this dog is now in much better hands.

Video shared by Riverside County Animal Services shows a “happier scene” where the dog is happily running around outside:

This is a shocking case of abandonment, but we’re glad everything worked out for Ken in the end and hope he’ll be very happy in his new home! ❤️
