Millie Bobby Brown is one of the busiest actresses working today, from her Emmy-nominated role as Eleven in the hit series Stranger Things to film series like Godzilla and Enola Holmes.
But off-screen, she’s just as a busy — with a house full of dogs, including over 20 fosters!
During a recent appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show, Brown opened up about her commitment to caring for dogs.
“I rescue many dogs,” she told Barrymore. “I’m fostering 23 dogs right now. It’s so fun!”
She’s taken in so many animals that she had had to move out of her parent’s house just to hold them all.
“I was living with them, then when I turned 18 I was like, ‘I want another dog.’ And they were like, ‘No, you can’t fit any more dogs in your room,’ And I was like, ‘Well I want a rabbit and I want farm animals.’ So I moved out and I moved next door.”
In an interview with UNILAD, Brown said she particularly loves taking in pitbulls, saying they get a bad rap and that she has a “deep love and connection” with the breed.
“Pitbulls and I have banded together against the humans that are horrible and mean to them,” she said.
In addition to her many, many fosters, Brown told Barrymore that she also has 9 dogs of her own, all rescues — including one 17-year-old senior rescue who she says was “dumped on the streets.”
She’s also the owner of a 3-year-old poodle named Winnie, who recently made an adorable appearance on The Tonight Show. Brown adopted the dog during the pandemic, and says that while Winnie can be “anxious” and “co-dependent,” she’s calmed down by Brown’s presence and goes with her everywhere.
“She somehow makes everything about her,” Brown joked to Jimmy Fallon. “She’s just so selfish. She’s a queen.”
According to CelebrityPets.net, Brown’s home full of animals also includes two rescue cats, two rescue tortoises and a rabbit.
In January, the Humane Society Naples said that Brown and her fiance Jake Bongiovi stopped by the shelter and fostered a rescue dog named Shark.
The humane society was so moved that they renamed one of their rescue dogs “Big Brown” after the actress.
Brown has also helped connect some of her Hollywood peers with their own rescue dogs. Dave Bautista recently shared that his newest rescue pitbull, Talulah, came into his life thanks to Millie Bobby Brown and her co-star Chris Pratt.
Thank you to Millie Bobby Brown for caring for so many dogs in need! ❤️
