Great Danes are known for their large size and tall height — but just one can be called the tallest dog in the world.
Recently, that crown passed to a “gentle giant” dog named Kevin, who measures a whopping 3 foot 2 from his feet to his withers and has been named by Guinness World Records the tallest living dog!
Kevin, 3, stands about the height of a three-year-old child and is several inches taller than the average Great Dane.
He lives with his owners Tracy and Roger Wolfe and their two children in West Des Moines, Iowa. They named him after the main character from Home Alone.
They took home Kevin after the death of their previous Great Dane, Cora. “He reminded me so much of Cora… He immediately came bounding to us, and we knew he was ours,” Tracy told Guinness World Records. “He was so friendly, right from the start.”
Despite his unusually large size, the family says he likes normal dog activities like cuddling and napping on the couch.
“I don’t think he’s aware he is as big as he is,” Tracy told Guiness World Records. “He’s continuously trying to squeeze into small beds and sit on top of us, and do everything that the smaller dogs do.”
