This story speaks about a potbellied pig called Anna; whose hooves had overgrown which made taking any step so painful. She spent her life locked in a barn, but was finally rescued.
Whenever she tried to walk, she’d cry out in pain. Her health condition was so bad as she’d been left with arthritis, infected eyes, and bad skin.
But when Happy Tails Farm Sanctuary in Kingston, Ontario, rescued the pig, Anna, everything changed. Anna’s owners were caught and charged with abandonment, neglect, and animal cruelty after Ralphy’s Retreat Sanctuary found her after being abandoned.
When the founder of the rescue group, Carla Reilly Moore, saw Anna for the first time, she was completely shocked the pig was still alive.
At first, the pig’s hoover were fixed at the vet, to let her walk again. She was also given a much-needed bath/scrub, medicine, and pain medication.
Her personality started to emerge after a while, and even transformed completely! She was at first reluctant to be touched, but with time, she started liking being touched. She even starts walking naturally, and wagging her tail when she is happy. What a transformation! Watch the video below.
