According to a report by Nafpaktia News, a 40-year-old dog owner named Haris perished in a cement mixer accident on the Old Ring Road near the River Evinos on November 9, 2017. This tragic event had a profound effect on the local community, which had lost Haris’s brother in a similar accident a few years earlier.

How this modern interpretation of Hachiko was able to locate the exact site of the tragic accident remains a mystery.

The distance between this location and his Nafpaktos residence is approximately 7.5 kilometers. What is even more astonishing is his unwavering resolve to remain at his owner’s memorial site for over a year and a half, repeatedly returning to the same location.

Despite the compassionate efforts of the community to relocate him and provide him with a new home, he stubbornly refuses to leave his chosen place of worship.
